I grew up in Hudson, Ohio. After graduating from The Ohio State University College of Optometry, I began practicing in the Seattle area. Then I discovered South Lake Union, and fell for it, personally and professionally. I live here with my family now, and we love being part of this vibrant place.

I opened Oculus Eyecare in 2013. It’s fun running my own optometry practice and optical boutique in such a dynamic arena – serving local residents and workers, supporting area nonprofits, and giving back to my community.

Over many years, I’ve worked with thousands of patients. I’ve successfully treated their eye disease, fit them with glasses and contacts, and have come to know them well. In doing so, I’ve learned that this is the work I was meant to do – and I really like doing it here.

I was born and raised in Downeast Maine. During my undergraduate studies at Bowdoin College, intersection of photography, chemistry, and physics led me to an interest in vision science and the wondrous human eye. I completed professional training at New York City’s SUNY College of Optometry, earning my doctorate in 2017. Keen to escape harsh winters and to experience the natural beauty of the PNW, I moved to Seattle soon after graduation. I have lived and practiced here ever since.

I enjoy solving the little puzzles presented by a person’s unique visual needs, and I will never tire of learning how my patients use their eyes for work and play. I strive to make sure that everyone leaves their eye exam not only with their primary concerns addressed, but also with better understanding of their visual system and ownership of their eye health. Though often small, each eye exam is an opportunity for me to make a positive impact in someone’s life, and I consider this to be the highest honor of the job.

Aus collected eyewear long before becoming an optician. Working at the intersection of design, technology, and healthcare means that she is always learning something new and she loves that.

The biggest reward of being an optician comes from designing glasses that improve a client’s confidence and quality of life. When not at work, you can find Aus at concerts, playing video games, and exploring all of the beautiful nature found in the Pacific Northwest.

Bola graduated from the Seattle Central School of Opticianry in 2009 and received her state license shortly afterwards. Finding a frame and lens combination that is both functional and flattering brings her satisfaction.

When not at work, she enjoys baking, admiring the great outdoors and dreaming of her next warm weather escape. Although she has spent most of her life in the Pacific Northwest, she enjoys exploring the otherworldly Southwest where she was born. 

Kelly has been working in the optical industry since 2003. She graduated from the Seattle Central College of Opticianry program in 2005 with her state license and national certifications.

She has been working with the wonderful Doctors and staff here at Oculus Eyecare since 2017. Helping her customers find just the right frame and lens combination to make them shine and improve their vision is her passion. 

Sarah has focused on the scientific and technical aspects of glasses and helping people find the best combination for their lifestyles. She is excellent at finding solutions to people’s visual needs.
